Manager, Training & Development - ASTD Job Bank

Ashland Inc. is currently seeking a Manager of Training and Development. This position will be based out of our corporate office in Wilmington, DE.

The Manager of Training & Development will be the primary Human Resources leader responsible for designing, planning and implementing business unit training and development plans and programs. This individual will research new training techniques and suggest enhancement to existing training programs, contract with vendors for employee participation in outside training programs, and monitor / report effectiveness of training relative to employees longer-term career development goals. This role will report into the Talent Management Function within Ashland, however, will also have a strong dotted-line relationship to a business unit. .

Responsibilities: ? Manage professional training programs and development activities for exempt, and management level employees ? Identify training and development requirements by conducting needs analysis on organization results, job requirements, business problems, company plans and forecasts, and current training programs ? Consult with and provide guidance to Senior Business and HR leaders dispersed throughout the world on all training initiatives and recommendations ? Coordinate training initiatives, projects and tasks to be in sync with the businesses strategic initiatives ? Develop a means of measuring the effectiveness of training programs by creating metrics, soliciting feedback from target audiences. Create summaries of effectiveness for senior leaders. ? Maintain knowledge of instructional technologies by attending workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks and participating in professional societies ? Maintain a good sense of industry benchmarks and best practices ? Creates a customer focused environment through training and development ? Assists in other HR or Talent Management projects as necessary and appropriate
