Activists Denounce the Presence of Israeli ... - Morocco World News

By Jamal saidi

Morocco World News

Casablanca, July 30, 2012

Dates coming from Israel are being circulating in a number of shops and markets of Morocco during the current month of Ramadan, according to Alarabiya.net. The dates bear serial numbers as well as addresses and phone numbers of companies and factories from Israel. The episode has been denounced by some pro-Palestinian activists in the country.

The activists who have been always against any sort of normalization of trade relations with Israel denounced the presence of the Israeli dates in the Moroccan market. They regarded such incident as ?insulting the feelings of Moroccans and a support for the Israeli occupation of Palestine.?

In this regard, Khaled Sufyani, coordinator of the National Group for the Support of Iraq and Palestine, said that promotion of the Israeli products is a disregard towards efforts and sacrifices of the Palestinians who struggle against the Zionist occupation.

On the other hand, Dr. Ahmed Arrissouni, a Moroccan Muslim scholar, has already issued a Fatwa prohibiting dealing with imported dates from Israel, saying that buying, selling and importing the Israeli dates is Haram or religiously forbidden.

Mohamed Benjeloune Alandaloussi, the president of Moroccan Association for the Support of the Palestinian Struggle, in his turn condemned the presence of Israeli dates in the Moroccan market.

?In the past, Israeli dates used to enter Moroccan markets under fake names for camouflage, but now it is done in the most blatant manner,? he said.

He went on to say that such matter highlights the government?s growing process of normalization of relations with Israel.

Modern culture began in South Africa 44,000 years ago

Call it the end of the late late show. The Later Stone Age technology was thought to have made its first appearance in South Africa much later than it did in Europe. A new analysis of South African finds suggests modern culture emerged in both areas at the same time.

In Europe, the Upper Palaeolithic ? another term for the Later Stone Age ? is commonly dated to around 45,000 years ago. In South Africa the archaeological evidence suggests the Later Stone Age did not begin until much later ? around 22,000 years ago.

Perhaps no longer, though. Paola Villa of the University of Colorado Museum of Natural History in Boulder, and her colleagues, have delved deep into the layers of Border Cave in South Africa, and found that Middle Stone Age tool-making techniques were giving way to Later Stone Age technology by 44,000 years ago. For instance, stone spear points ? a hallmark of Middle Stone Age technology ? were replaced by bows and bone arrows.

A companion paper, headed by Francesco d'Errico of the University of Bordeaux, France, found organic evidence that pointed to a similar date, including ornamental ostrich eggshell beads, digging sticks, and beeswax wrapped in fibres ? the oldest recorded use of beeswax as an adhesive for attaching tools to handles. It's likely that these organic artefacts represent the beginning of the modern-day San hunter-gatherer society in South Africa.

The Border Cave evidence also shows a striking trend of internal evolution. Though Later Stone Age technologies could theoretically have spread rapidly to the north and south from a source in East Africa, Villa's evidence suggests otherwise. The South African finds suggest a gradual shift into the Later Stone Age, while retaining a few elements from earlier times in the form of notched bones, bone awls and marine shell beads. That points to the South African populations evolving many of their later tools independently.

"To prove internal evolution, you need a place like Border Cave that has a long sequence, many layers, is well dated, and all use the same materials to make artefacts," says Villa.

The "Golden Flow" that Creates Lasting Love | Scott & Shannon Peck

Here?s a secret that will move your love life higher: There is a love ratio that almost guarantees that your relationships will be rich & lasting.

In successful, lasting intimate relationships, there is a high ratio of positive sharing compared to negative sharing.

How many positive experiences does it take to balance out a comparable negative experience? It?s been suggested by psychologist Barbara Fredrickson that the ratio is 3:1 ? that?s 3 positive emotions to every one negative.

Since then, noted psychologist, Dr. John Gottman, found in his research that a 5 to 1 ratio is necessary in order for a marriage to succeed. In fact, he claims he can spot a couple who is headed for divorce within the first 15 minutes of interviewing them based on this 5:1 ratio.

What this means is that, in a happy lasting relationship, each partner gives the other partner at least five positive, loving emotions or experiences to every negative one.Pecks

Why is it so important to offer 5 positive emotions to each negative one?

Because we remember the negative experiences vividly ? whether criticism, judgment, or even neutrality.? Even slight negative remarks can hurt our feelings & stick with us ? usually for a long time. Our feeling loved rapidly slips away.

That?s why a high ratio of love versus non-love is so essential. Each of us?

needs the constant nurturing of loving-kindness to support our tender hearts. This is a big secret of lasting love.

We love this secret ? and we would take it even higher to what we call the ?Golden Flow.?

The ?Golden Flow? of love is a step beyond measuring love by a ratio. It measures love by the consistency of the flow of love. This is what has kept our love so alive & incredibly nourishing for twenty years. It?s the underlying theme in all our books, writings, & courses.

Here?s what this looks like from the inside of a lasting, intimate relationship. Each partner feels emotionally safe, relaxed, & deeply loved because there is a flow of love as consistent as Niagara Falls. This creates a tremendous sense of well-being, and it adds to each other?s confidence and ability to adjust to life?s changes.

Of course there will be blips on the radar screen when one partner is suffering from a bad day, stress, or hard times. But we make strong efforts not to pass this suffering on to each other in the form of anger, depression, judgment, or blame.

How can you bump up your love flow & bask in love?Yosemite

Here?s what we do to create love flow. We are keenly aware of our emotional effect on each other every single day. And, we talk ? a lot. Almost daily, we ask each other, ?What?s going on in your heart?? This deep, nurturing listening brings whatever needs healing to the surface. And, if there?s nothing to heal, the heart question also allows good news to come to the surface. Imagine sitting by a beautiful river & watching the water flow by continuously. Your heart just naturally relaxes in such an environment of consistent beauty & harmony. That?s how our hearts feel in the Golden Flow. This causes us to bask in love.

To feel within your gut that you are so emotionally safe that you can depend on the ?Golden Flow? of love takes any relationship to a dimension of soul-satisfying, soul-enriching love that can?t help but last forever.? Is this not what we all crave?

Of course, no one is perfect. There are always bumps in any relationship. But the power behind the ?Golden Flow? is that these bumps quickly disappear versus becoming the equivalent to an elephant of hurt or anger constantly standing in the doorway of your heart.

What?s your consistency rate on flowing with positives?

Here?s how to move your love life more closely to the ?Golden Flow.? More than anything, become aware of your own rate of love consistency. How would you rate yourself on being consistently kind or aware of others? feelings, especially when you?re down?

As you become more aware, you?ll be able to start closing the gap to inconsistent patterns. Your love mate will notice and appreciate these refinements. As we wrote this newsletter, we considered that even if your ratio is 5 to 1, that?s still 20% negative. ?However, we also marveled that this also shows how powerful the positive emotions are (80%) in outweighing the negative.

To move even higher and take your love into the ?Golden Flow,? start practicing being in a FLOW of love that is so consistent that your love mate actually relies on (and relaxes in) your love because it is proven so dependable, versus your love mate thinking, ?I wonder if I?m going to feel loved today??

Remember, it?s okay to fail as you make efforts to refine your love skills. Making growth strides can be messy. Yet staying aware of being in the ?Golden Flow? will DRMACTICALLY improve your relationship. ?Let us know how you?re doing.

Young people supported by Southampton Rape Crisis

As part of a Rape Awareness Campaign launched by Hampshire Constabulary, Michelle Barry from Southampton Rape Crisis describes the work the organisation does with local young people in Southampton.

Southampton Rape Crisis (SRC) provides a range of services to those who are at risk of, or who have been affected by, an unwanted sexual experience. This may include anything from rape, childhood sexual abuse and sexual assault to harassment or coercion.

Any unwanted sexual experience can have a significant impact on the individual both emotionally and physically. SRC work with young people (from 12 years old), men, women and families, as well as providing information, advice and support to agencies which are working with affected individuals.

Michelle Barry, Southampton Sex Relationships Education Group Coordinator with SRC, describes some of the work they do with young people.

?It is worrying that? ?many of the young people who come to us following an unwanted sexual experience feel that the same thing might happen to them again. They feel it has been proven that they can?t keep themselves safe. Through our counselling and outreach work with young people we hope address some of these issues.

?The Star Project is our education and outreach initiative which aims to reduce the incidence of rape and sexual abuse and raise awareness of support services via creative and innovative workshops with young people in Southampton. Star also offers specialist targeted work around issues of positive relationships, consent, sexual exploitation, teenage pregnancy, domestic violence and other relevant sex and relationships education topics.

?In working with young people we are able to adopt many different approaches to put our messages across. We have been able to develop projects using drama, music, graffiti and dance. We always link with other agencies to deliver targeted work amongst vulnerable groups in the city; helping to raise awareness of the many resources open to young people in Southampton, and work hard to ensure that young people feel comfortable and confident in accessing them.

?Having the back up counselling service for all of the outreach work provides a ?safety-net? when working with young people around sensitive issues and there has been a significant rise in contacts from young people since the Star project began.?

Feedback from some of the young people Michelle has worked with includes:

?Don?t feel under pressure in a relationship ? remember, you have a voice! Stand up and speak up!? (Female, 15)

?I liked the openness of Star. It was great and I learnt the consequences of choices that can ruin the relationship. I learnt the values and disadvantages of sex? (Male, 15)

Between April 2011 and March 2012 Southampton Rape Crisis had provided 677 young persons counselling sessions, took on 41 new young person clients (66 clients finished) and conducted 91 young person assessments.

The service had also provided 2,239 adult counselling sessions, had taken on 92 new adult clients (48 clients finished) and conducted 214 adult assessments.

NEW YORK (AP) ? Aasif Mandvi, a regular correspondent for "The Daily Show," is going back to the stage.

Chick-fil-A Doesn't Belong In Politics ? CBS Boston

The Right Politics

Politics is becoming a part of everyday life in the United States, even for those people who claim they don?t like politics or won?t allow politics to be discussed at their dinner table. Unfortunately for those persons, politics are infiltrating most every part of America?s fabric ? most recently the huge portion of the fabric that includes American businesses.

Most recently, a business that has entrenched itself in politics is the Chick-fil-A restaurant chain due to the personal opinion given by its president, Dan Cathy. Since last week when Cathy said he supports traditional marriage and no other form of marriage, the loud protests and soft acceptances of his comments have gone viral ? and more. After Twitter, Facebook, and other forms of social media had their initial say, the politicizing of the poultry restaurant business began ? literally.

After Cathy was trounced for giving his opinion on the controversial subject, former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee was quick to add his approval of the fast food chain?s assertion that the Biblical form of marriage was just. Huckabee has even called upon supporters of what Cathy opined to participate in an ?Appreciation Day? on August 1st. How well that call for patronizing Chick-fil-A goes is yet to be seen.

On the other end of the political spectrum, there are politicians like Chicago Alderman Joe Moreno who are extremely opposed to the message delivered via Cathy?s outspokenness. The Chicago politician is now blocking the opening of a Chick-fil-A restaurant in his Northwest Side community. In Chicago, aldermen have what is referred to as ?alderman?s privilege? which gives Moreno the power to block the business from proceeding.

The area of Chicago of which Moreno is alderman ? the 1st Ward which includes the Logan Square neighborhood ? is becoming more and more contemporary with its recent developments and would have welcomed a Chick-fil-A with open arms and pocketbooks before now. At this point, however, Cathy and his Chick-fil-A can forget it.

While some have asked Alderman Moreno about freedom of speech, the alderman simply responds that zoning is not a right ? and that is where Moreno?s ?alderman?s privilege? and authority have come into play.

Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel has appropriately joined Moreno?s move to block the restaurant in Chicago by saying that having that restaurant ? particularly in Moreno?s ward where many gays, lesbians, and trans-genders are in residence ? wouldn?t be a successful business for the city because people simply aren?t going to go there now. Emanuel added that he wouldn?t want the business in Chicago because Chicago is open to all its neighbors ? and such prejudice against some of the city?s citizens is not wanted in Chicago.

Though I rarely agree with Emanuel, I must admit that this time he is right on the mark.

Surprisingly, Chick-fil-A was founded in another populous American city, Atlanta. Where does an otherwise successful business person from a big American city get the idea that he can blast the GLAAD community ? or any segment of society ? and still have a profitable business at the end of the day?

Chick-fil-A now claims via Facebook that the restaurant treats every patron with ?honor, dignity and respect ? regardless of their belief, race, creed, sexual orientation or gender?. This contradictory statement from the restaurant chain is obviously not going to carry much weight with those it has offended and those who totally disapprove of a business giving their opinion on same-sex marriage at all.

First of all, what was Dan Cathy thinking when he thought that anyone gives a damn about what he thinks about same-sex marriage? Second of all, did he forget he heads a company that could lose many customers ? possibly his entire business ? when he made his ?blurt-ation?? Did he actually believe that spewing his controversial belief on an otherwise social, political, and religious issue wasn?t going to have a negative effect on his business? Did he feel he had some moral or religious need to give his opinion?

Whatever Cathy?s reasoning, he has a lot to learn about the separation of his business and the unnecessary preaching of his morality. Unfortunately for his business and the many people who depend on him for a financial livelihood, he is most likely learning his lesson too late.

How to Create a Marketing Plan Inspired by the Olympics - blog*spot

National pride swells at the Olympics. Amateur athletes find new heroes, and Americans take their passion for sports and athletic competition to a whole new level. This Friday marks the start of the London 2012 Olympic Games and we?re beside ourselves with excitement. But our enthusiasm is more about your business than it is about the games. As professional marketers we?re passionate about spreading the word. That?s why the Summer Olympics have us dreaming up new ways for you to promote your products and services.
Trademark and sponsorship issues make any mention of the official Olympics a no-no for your marketing plan. But don?t swear off the games just yet. Use them as inspiration to liven up your marketing strategy. Keep reading to learn how to infuse your marketing plan with the spirit of the Olympics.

For the Love of the Game

The Olympics demand national attention every four years because there?s an event for everyone. From basketball to badminton, synchronized swimming to weightlifting, the Olympic games are so diverse that they appeal to every kind of audience member.

Think of your business?s suite of services as the event list at the Olympics. One offering will fit the needs of one customer, but not another. Your goal is to match up the right product with the right client.

Game, Set, Match

Direct mail works because it forges connections between your business and its prospects or customers. It?s the best way to help your leads find their perfect match. A personalized direct mail campaign initiates a relationship between your business and your prospects. It?s a way to introduce your company and subtly show leads that your products will solve their challenges.

You?ve got to do your homework before inventing the perfect direct mail piece for your dream prospect. Get the most out of personalized direct mail by referring to solid data first. With data to backup your piece, your marketing campaign will be worthy of a gold medal.

The Winning Combination

Champion swimmer Michael Phelps has already won sixteen gold medals, and he?ll surely earn more at the London Olympics. There?s a lesson in Phelps? training schedule for the games too: he doesn?t just workout in the pool. Phelps also logs long hours in the weight room.

Model your business?s marketing campaign after Phelps? hybrid training regimen. Your direct mail piece can start the conversation with prospects, but coordinated signage and other promotional pieces may close the deal.

When you get hooked on watching the Olympics in the coming weeks, keep an eye out for competitive wisdom to shake up your marketing plan.

porfirio - The Urban Gospel Mission ? COHABITATION IS - LiveJournal

A recent study shows that 2/3 of Americans believe that cohabitation (living together with a partner before marriage) is a smart step towards a healthy marriage. This idea makes sense right? Why not practice for marriage first and then do it, right? Wrong. Many studies have proven that couple who cohabitate together before marriage are more likely to divorce.?

THE PROBLEM WITH COHABITATION

The problem with cohabitation relationships is that they are mainly based upon personal convenience and sexual pleasure than true love and commitment. The problem with this model is that people who choose cohabitation partners most likely wouldn?t marry that individual in the long run. They choose partners based upon their potentials, and both men and women agree that their standard for a partner to live with is significantly lower than their standard would be for a spouse.

WHY WOMEN COHABITATE

Women mainly cohabitate because they view it is a ?smart? step towards marriage. They have the idea in their mind that the men that they live with today will one day be their husbands in the near future. But this idea is a lie. First the man that they are cohabitating with doesn?t view marriage in the same regards as they do, and second the man would not marry the woman in the long run. If the man is already living with the woman, eating her food, and having sex with her every night, why would the woman think that he would want to marry her? He doesn?t and he won?t, because he?s already getting everything he needs from the relationship.

WHY MEN COHABITATE

Men cohabitate for two reasons, first is to test if the women is going to be marriage material, and second is to postpone commitment. Men who are cohabitating treat women as if they were cars by test driving them to see if they are worthy of marriage (whether that be for personality or sexual relations). And if the woman is not marriage material the man will stay in the cohabitation relationship until the women asks for marriage, then he will leave and go to the next girl.

To expand upon the second idea, most men desire to cohabitate because they want to postpone commitment. Men do not want to be committed to a woman, and cohabitation is an easy way for them not to be.? Cohabitation gives the men all the benefits of a marriage relationship without all of the burdens or responsibilities of having to love and care for a wife.

WHY COHABITATION SEX ISN?T LOVE

People who cohabitate together are usually having sex together. They believe that there is nothing wrong with this because they say ?we are both responsible adults? and ?we can do whatever we want?. Yet the problem with having sex before marriage is that your foundation of your relationship is based upon lust and passion. So the man stays with the woman because she is bringing him some type of physical pleasure and vice versa.

This idea is why so many people who cohabitate end in divorces, lust can only last for so long. Eventually when you are in a relationship with someone, what is going to last is commitment and perseverance to one another, not what one another can do in the bedroom. Having sex with someone that you do not know blinds your eyes so that you do not see them for who they really are.

THE SOLUTION TO THE COHABITATION?DILEMMA

I believe that the solution to the cohabitation dilemma is the same solution that we have had since the beginning of mankind- marriage. It was God?s original design and it?s the only way that true love can be expressed.

Instead of finding a temporary sleeping buddy, we should be looking for companions that we can spend our entire lives with. Therefore we should take time, without sex, to get to know a person first, and then if we find out that we are really in love get married. Both men and women need to be in committed relationships only with those they can see themselves married too, and it takes time to find out if someone is marriage material.

Like I stated in the beginning, studies show that cohabitation partners are more likely to be divorced. So we shouldn?t believe the lies and deception of society that cohabitation is practice for marriage. Instead, we should follow the word of God and pursue marriage they way that God intended for it to be.

Learning How To Become A New Person

To stay true to your goals, enlist the help of a friend or join an online support group. It helps to have support from people who are going through the same thing. You will be surprised how much an ?atta boy? or ?way to go? can lift your spirits and keep you motivated through rough patches.

Educate yourself. Reading books is a great way to keep your mind exercised as you work towards your self-improvement goals. You can find classic books on the subject of self-help, but even reading books about your country?s history or your favorite hobby can do wonders. Not only will you gain knowledge, but your mind will also remain sharp.

When trying to cope with depression, try turning to people you trust, like friends and family members. Share with them what it is that you?re going through. Ask them for the support and help that you need. Despite making yourself a bit of a recluse, you can get through this rough time with some love and help.

Most people don?t make an effort to nag others ? it just comes naturally. Unfortunately, nagging can have quite the opposite effect: building resentment and sacrificing productivity. You may find that your requests can be summed up tidily in an one-word reminder instead of a long rant about how angry you will be if your spouse forgets to pick up milk at the store. You might shorten it to a single word: ?Milk!? Even though this is a minor change it can get to the point very quick.

Personal development is hard work, so remember to recharge your personal battery. Take time to be with yourself. Exercising is an excellent way to clear your mind of the stress of day to day life, and allows you to practice self-discipline. You?ll feel better about yourself and build greater endurance to get through your day!

Identify your current strengths before you try to change your perceived weaknesses. A key component of personal development is having a true understanding of your whole self. Unfortunately, personal development often focuses only on weaknesses. Often, improving an already developed strength may be more helpful to achieving your long-term goals.

Take time out of your busy day to listen to what your mind and your body are trying to tell you. If you stop for a little while each day, you are going to find that there are many things that your body is telling you that you were not hearing before, and you can make changes to improve the situation.

For many people, retreating from a conflict is the standard response. Unfortunately, this habit does nothing to resolve the problem or prevent similar issues in the future. Try to practice keeping yourself in the conflict while continuing to engage the other party with questions that can help to resolve the problem. Unlike simply retreating and giving someone the famous ?cold shoulder?, this approach forces you to work through your concerns and avoid creating further resentment.

Try new things. It is important to never be afraid to try things that are new and exciting. Expand your horizons. Pick up a new hobby or skill. Travel as much and as often as you can and expose yourself to different cultures. The more you know about the world, the more you can evolve as a person.

Try to make time to socialize. You should not sacrifice your social and family life for work, pain or anxiety. Getting a break to relax with people you like to be around can really do wonders for you. It can refresh and recharge you so that you can accomplish much more. You may even get some pointers while you?re chatting with other people.

Carry yourself with pride. Personal development may be an intimate process, but you will find yourself walking with more confidence if you present a cohesive image to the world around you. Trying on new ways to project your true self allows you to toy with self-expression and builds your self confidence in the process.

While re-planning your life seems like a lot of fun, you should feel better that you know how to do it. You can now apply your newly acquired knowledge to making positive changes to live your life and to become a better person. Now is the perfect time for you to change things.

I believe that this has been a good choice for info on what to say to your ex to get him back, and indeed you will discover more on video itself at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XrYWusm8UCo, why not go there now and check them out.

'Seeds' of Supermassive Black Holes Discovered

Incorrect, you're letting intuition get in the way. Space is big. Really big. And even if you collapse our entire solar system into a black hole then it would still have exactly the same mass as it always did, so from a distance nothing changes much. Yeah, there's a black hole where there used to be a star and some assorted debris, but it just keeps on cruising through space like it always did.

The chances of it reaching enough other bits of matter to gain a million times its own mass aren't very go

France, Spain: Bank rescue needs to come fast

MADRID (AP) ? France and Spain called Wednesday for swift implementation of the rescue plan for Spanish banks to ease concern that the country may need a full-blown sovereign bailout.

In June, the 17 countries that use the euro agreed to lend Spain up to ?100 billion ($121 billion) to save those of its banks that are laden with soured investments following a property sector collapse in 2008.

But the deal only intensified concerns about Spain's debt levels, since the government initially will have to repay those loans if the banks cannot. In response, investors have since been demanding exorbitantly high interest rates to lend to the country.

To solve that problem, eurozone ministers agreed to give the loans directly to the Spanish banks ? but only after a Europe-wide banking regulator is set up. That could take months, if not years. France and Spain said this step should be sped up and completed by the end of the year.

"The swift implementation of the financial assistance programme is essential to restore confidence and recreate conditions for growth," French Finance Minister Pierre Moscovici and Spanish Economy Minister Luis de Guindos said in a joint statement after talks in Paris.

The ministers said they did not think Spain's borrowing costs, which this week touched a euro-era record, reflect the country's financial position.

"We believe that the current level of interest rates prevailing in the sovereign debt markets does not reflect the fundamentals of the Spanish economy, its growth potential and the sustainability of its public debt," the statement said.

Both men said they were confident the rates would fall back once investors were confident that the country's banks were getting the support they need.

In the markets, however, Spain remained under intense financial pressure.

The yield, or interest rate, on Spain's benchmark 10-year bond spiked 0.11 percentage point to 7.65 percent in the first hour of trading, before easing back to 7.37 percent at the close of trading.

A rate above 7 percent is deemed untenable over the long term ? Spain has been suffering it for several weeks. Should Madrid find it too expensive to raise money from bond markets at such rates, it would have to ask for an international bailout like those sought by Greece, Ireland or Portugal.

Spain denies it will need financial rescue for its public finances, but many investors now think it's only a matter of time.

The country's benchmark IBEX 35 stock index closed 0.8 percent higher, recovering only a fraction of the previous three days' heavy losses.

De Guindos' visit to Paris is part of the country's desperate battle to seek support and stave off a bailout. He met with Germany's Wolfgang Schaeuble in Berlin on Tuesday. Spain has also been pleading for the European Central Bank to intervene and buy its debt to ease get its bond yields down. But so far its demands have fallen on deaf ears.

Spain's economy is in its second recession in three years, chiefly because of a collapse of the property bubble that had fueled the economy for more than a decade. It is not expected to grow again before 2014 and unemployment is around 25 percent.

Meanwhile, two regions ? Valencia and Murcia ? have since Friday said they will tap an ?18 billion emergency credit line the central government recently set up for cash-strapped regions. More are expected to follow.

The powerful northeastern region of Catalonia said Tuesday it was also considering requesting help from Madrid, but stressed that the credit line did not constitute a rescue or bailout for the region.

Catalonia, with a debt of ?42 billion, is Spain's most indebted region but also one of the top two contributors to the nation's GDP.

Many Spanish regions are so heavily in debt due to the recession and the real estate crisis that they cannot raise money on their own on financial markets.

Investor concern about regional debt grew sharply when the central government was forced to revise Spain's 2011 budget deficit upward for a second time to 8.9 percent in May ? an embarrassing adjustment that had to be made after four of the regions confirmed they had spent more than previously forecast.

How To Eliminate White Spots On Skin Without The Need For Costly ...

Sun spots on skin are quite often referred to as age spots, but they are, as the name implies, caused by the sun rather than by age. The only reason they're sometimes called age spots is because they usually only become visible later in life. Interestingly enough, these dark patches were once thought to be indicative of liver trouble, and as a result, they were, and still are, sometimes called liver spots.

The only way to avoid getting sun spots is to stay out of the sun as much as possible, but at the same time, one shouldn't forget the fact that spending some time in the sun is actually good for one's health. However, it is certainly advisable to use a good sunscreen if you intend being outdoors for any length of time.

When choosing a sunscreen, it's also wise to remember that not all sunscreens are created equal. Many of them contain padimate-O, which is also often called octyl dimethyl. This chemical has the ability to absorb UV light, thereby preventing direct UV related damage to DNA. However, studies have found that the actual molecules, once they've absorbed UV light, can cause secondary DNA damage which is similar to damage caused by ionizing radiation. Admittedly though, such studies have not yet been conducted on humans.

If you are currently trying to get rid of your existing sunspots, I'd personally recommend that you use a good quality, all-natural skin care product. Many beauty clinics advertise laser treatment, chemical peels, and microderm abrasion for the removal of spots and blemishes, but these procedures are incredibly expensive, and their level of success is questionable at best.

Sun spots are not only visible on the topmost layer of your skin, but instead, they reach all the way to the lower layers. Chemical peels and microderm abrasion simply serve to exfoliate the outer layers, and then it's a matter of hoping for the best that newly formed skin will once again have pigment. Laser treatment on the other hand can on occasions stimulate the skin to produce new melanin, which is essentially what gives skin its pigment. Again, this is a hit and miss approach, and if it doesn't work for you, you will have wasted a small fortune.

You can also buy skin bleaches, but they take several months to work and they can cause very unpleasant side effects. Many people are overly hasty, and are thus tempted to use stronger than recommended concentrations, and when this is done, it could lead to permanent scarring.

Again, there are some very effective, all-natural skin care products on the market which are specifically designed for sun spots on skin, but as is often the case which all-natural health and beauty treatments, they don't produce overnight results. My advice is, rather play it safe, even if it means you'll have to put up with your spots for a little longer.

If you would like to find more detailed information on how to get rid of white spots on skin in a way which is both safe and incredibly affordable, please take a minute to visit my site at http://www.naturalbeautyandskincare.com/.

Amazon puts 50MB limit on 3G Kindle's 'free' experimental browser

Sad news for global freeloaders travellers looking to keep up with Gmail and Twitter on their Amazon e-reader. The online book seller has started closing in on excessive free web browsing, policing a 50MB data limit on its keyboard Kindle iterations. According to users on MobileRead, you'll still be able to browse Amazon's Kindle store and Wikipedia, but anything beyond that gets locked down. After some further investigation, it looks like Amazon added a provision outlining the data limits on its site, dated around July 1st. It stipulating that users "may be limited to 50MB of browsing over 3G per month." The data cap only applies to older Kindle versions, including the Kindle Keyboard and Kindle DX. If you've got Amazon's latest e-reader hardware, then you're not missing anything -- the free web browsing option was sidestepped on the likes of the Kindle Touch.

Findings may lead to effective new treatments

BOSTON July 23, 2012 Scientists at Joslin Diabetes Center have identified biological mechanisms by which glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1), a gut hormone, protects against kidney disease, and also mechanisms that inhibit its actions in diabetes. The findings, which are reported today online by Diabetes, may lead to the development of new therapeutic agents that harness the actions of GLP-1 to prevent the harmful effects of hyperglycemia on renal endothelial cells.

Renal complications, also known as diabetic nephropathy, are one of the most life-threatening complications of diabetes that often lead over time to end-stage renal disease (ESRD). About a half million people in the US 44 percent of whom are diabetics -- have ESRD, which requires dialysis or kidney transplantation. As a result, investigating the relationship of diabetes to renal dysfunction is a major focus of diabetes research. "We are very eager to develop new treatments for diabetic kidney disease," says George King, M.D., lead author of the study, and chief scientific officer, head of the Dianne Nunnally Hoppes Laboratory for Diabetes Complications and a professor of medicine at Harvard Medical School.

GLP-1 is an incretin hormone that is produced by the intestine in response to food. GLP-1 increases the secretion of insulin from the pancreas, slows absorption of glucose from the gut, and reduces the action of glucagon all of which lower glucose levels in the blood. In addition, GLP-1 reduces appetite. The drug, exendin-4 (marketed as Exenatide), which mimics the effects of GLP-1, is used to lower blood glucose in type 2 diabetes.

Recent studies have reported that GLP-1 improves the function of renal endothelial cells (which regulate blood clotting, immune response and blood vessel activity, among other critical functions, and are impaired by insulin resistance) and can prevent some renal pathologies in diabetic rodents. GLP-1 receptors (GLP-1R), which are abundant in the intestine, are also found in the endothelium and kidney.

The Joslin study investigated the effects of GLP-1 in non-diabetic and diabetic mice with an "overexpression" of the enzyme PKC? (protein kinase C-beta) which is produced in excess when blood glucose is high. Excess PKC? can lead to diabetes complications, including kidney disease. PKC? enhances the action of angiotensin II (Ang II), a peptide hormone that affects renal filtration and blood flow and also regulates blood pressure, which increases inflammation and accelerates the progression of kidney damage.

The study looked at the interactions of GLP-1, PKC-beta and ANG II that affect GLP-1's protective action in renal endothelial cells. "We've been interested in diabetic kidney disease for a long time, particularly the role of PKC? and Ang II in promoting kidney damage," says Dr. King. "We were interested in investigating how GLP-1 could protect against the effects of hyperglycemia on renal function."

Josin researchers made two major findings: They identified the mechanisms by which GLP-1 can induce protective actions on the glomerular (renal) endothelial cells by inhibiting the signaling pathway of Ang II and its pro-inflammatory effect; and demonstrated a dual signaling mechanism by which hyperglycemia, via PKC? activation, can increase Ang II action and inhibit GLP-1's protective effects by reducing the expression of GLP-1 receptors in the glomerular endothelial cells. "We know that people with diabetes are more sensitive to Ang II; our data suggests one reason why," says Dr. King.

The results suggest that effective therapeutic agents could be developed to enhance the effects of GLP-1R on the endothelium which may prevent glomerular endothelial dysfunction and slow the progression of diabetic nephropathy. "We now know that increased PKC? decreases GLP-1R which makes the kidney less responsive to treatment with GLP-1-based drugs. Possible new treatments could combine PKC? inhibitors with higher doses of GLP-1 agonists. GLP-1 is one potential pharmaceutical that could both lower glucose and minimize the toxic effects of Ang II to lower the risk of kidney diseases," says Dr. King.

King.
