Ready Steady Cut! ? Somerset Food & Drink

Pylle-based butcher, Jon Thorner?s is competing in a national meat competition.?Butcher Andrew Withey from the Jon Thorner?s butchery in Pylle competed in July 2011 at the Q Guild of Butchers Meat Up event, where he claimed first place, with fellow colleague Paul McKinley.

Withey will be hoping to share further success with another Jon Thorner?s butcher, Paul Heaps, in ?Ready Steady Cut!?.

This Q Guild competition is searching for Britain?s most skilful butcher. Each team will be provided with a mystery box of meat, and with access to a common store of seasonings, glazes and marinades, the winner will be the team who produces the best display on the day in the allotted time. Competitors are coming from across the country to the NEC in Birminghamon Monday 26th March.
