In the year 2999, a terrible and cataclysmic incident permanently changed the face of the earth. EDO, a scientific firm based in Japan, was experimenting with the possibility of creating a perpetual energy source. By 2999, they thought they finally cracked the secret and had managed to create the first perpetual energy core, however something went awry and the core experienced a meltdown. The energy that the core released was so powerful that it completely changed the planet, altering every creature's genetic make-up in a rather interesting way. The world's creature were mutated into two aspects: the SILHOUETTE and the MIRAGE.
Silhouettes are easily recognizable by their blue hair and/or predominantly blue clothing. In terms of personality they are tame, secretive, and calculating and rely on their sharp minds to get things done. They are also very dependent on technology and constantly strive to improve it further. However, they are lacking in physical prowess and will strength.
Mirages can be recognized by their red-themed appearance. Unlike their counterparts, Mirages are more lively, boisterous, and impulsive. They rely on their gut and their own strength to come through in the end, rarely considering if the outcome will be bad or not. They are not so advanced with their technology but they do possess greater physical strength and are able to manifest more devastating powers. However they lack the wisdom, knowledge, and insight possessed by the Silhouettes.
The leaders of the Silhouettes and the Mirages have declared war against each other, threatening to completely destroy what was left of the world. However all hope is not lost...
A unique aspect was born out of the incident called Truths. They have the ability to take on the aspect of both Silhouettes and Mirages, making them against both adversaries. However, due to mysterious circumstances, the majority of Truths have been wiped out and only a handful exist today. One of them was specifically created to go back to the point of origin, Japan which was now but a massive dome of light called EDO, and "reset" the world to the way it was.
Naturally, the Silhouettes and Mirages are against this and keep wary of this Truth as well as each other. Along with that, one of the Truths seems to have gone rogue and is vying to be the god of everything by messing with the point of origin. What will be the ultimate fate of the world of Illusion?
